HISTORY TILL 2016

Dear ANOs,

Following is a short history of efforts to unite the ANOs of India.

My name is Rajeev Joseph.

While getting ready for my PRCN I had searched the internet and had come across a blog for ANOs run by Lt.D. Muthukumaran from Tamilnadu. It helped me a lot. During my PRCN I found a lot of confusions related to NCC and felt the need to unite the ANOs of India. Thus during the library hours I started a blog named www.associatenccofficer.blogspot.in. A blog has its limitations. So after PRCN I started a Facebook group named ANO CONFEDERATION which now has 3100+ ANOs of various states as members.

In August 2015 I understood the limitations of Facebook and created whats app groups for the 28 states of India and became a part of Telangana and Punjab state groups run by Naveen Nagothu and Amit Sahi respectively. Thus now we have whats app groups for ANOs of all the 29 states and union territories. All of them have the same name (name of the state) ANO Association/Welfare Board.

In-order to link the states I have started an all India group named ALL INDIA ANO CONFEDERATION. It has ANOs who have been carefully selected from the 29 state wise groups. The idea was to add only active ANOs of all the states so that important discussions and circulars will be shared from the all India group to the state groups easily. While the selected ones from some states are very active some others are inactive. Hope that in the future we will be able to add more active ANOs from all states. English is the medium for communication in the all India group. It is hoped that the admins of state groups will translate important discussions into the state's mother tongue (if needed).

Now there are 3 All India whats app groups for ANOs (as far as I know). One by Lt. D. Muthu Kumaran – ALL INDIA NCC OFFICERS and the second by Hirendra Kumar Virani sir ( I am not a member there. So don't know the number) and the third by me.

These were our ultimate aims:

1) To form an association for each state and get it registered
2) To support each other and share important information.

3) To support NCC Authorities from DG NCC to the CO at the battalion to strengthen NCC and work for the welfare of cadets.

                    HISTORY TILL 2016

From Facebook family Major Unmesh Pandya from Surat, Gujarat, Chief Officer Devender Hooda, Second Officer Satender Yadav and many other positive ANOs contacted me to express their willingness in convening an all India meet at Delhi. In December 2016 Major Unmesh Pandya and his wife flew over to Delhi and met the Delhi team. I could not participate in person but joined via phone call. We decided to have the all India meet in Delhi in April 2017. The meeting was a great success with ANOs representing most of the states. We named our association as ALL INDIA ANO WELFARE CONFEDERATION. Major Unmesh Pandya was elected as the President, Chief Officer as the General Secretary and myself First Officer Rajeev Joseph as the Treasurer. Second Officer Adam Mansoor was elected as the Internal Auditor. An executive committee was formed. India was divided into Northern Zone, Southern Zone, Eastern Zone, Western Zone and Central Zone. A Joint Secretary was assigned for each zone. One retired ANO was also assigned for each zone to guide us.

In 2018 2nd executive committee meeting was conducted at Bhopal. In 2019 the 2nd National Conference was held at Kolapur, Maharashtra. 

All India ANO Welfare Confederation is designed as the confederation of the 28 state associations for ANOs. There are 28 state whatsapp groups and an all India whatsapp group named All India ANO Welfare Confederation.
