Toll Tax exemption Card
ANO Shiv Kumar Sir made a suggestion in our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/associatenccofficer that
"The problem regarding toll tax can be resolved by making a toll tax
exemption card duly signed by your Commanding Officer with photo because
such type of cards are being issued to army persons by their respective
Commanding Officers. These cards will never let you down officer."
Here is a sample.

Year Plan of NCC activities for this academic year
Dear ANO,
If you are interested inn sharing your plans for NCC activities this year you are most welcome to share it here in our blog. Please send it to
blogforano@gmail.com
You can also publish a report of what you did last year. There are many ANOs who publish such reports and photos in Face Book. It is true that Face Book has a higher reach than a blog like this but the greatest problem with it is our post will get attention just for one or hours. After that it would be difficult even for us to find that post. The permanent solution is a blog like this.

Rank structure and pay scales of army officers
Rank Structure and Pay Scales of Army Officers
Want to join Indian army
as an officer and looking for rank structure? Salary of Indian army
officers will increase according to their rank. Read on to know
about pay scales or pay bands, grade pay and MSP of Indian army
officers.
Indian army is one of the best defence forces in this world. Army recruits young men and women as officers frequently. Here is the rank structure along with pay scale/pay band, grade pay and MSP applicable for serving Indian army officers.
Lieutenant rank
Lieutenant rank is the first rank given for the
candidates who have successfully completed the prescribed training
of Indian army. Pay band or scale of an officer in the rank of
Lieutenant is 15600 - 39100 which lies in the pay band 3. Lieutenant
gets grade pay of 5400 rupees per month and Military Service Pay or
MSP of six thousand rupees per month. Thus if total allowances and
pay included an officer working in Indian Army in the rank of
Lieutenant gets salary of around 65000 rupees per month.
Captain rank of Indian Army officers
Second rank of Indian Army officers is captain
rank. After two years of service as commissioned officer, an officer
of Indian Army gets rank of captain. An officer in the rank of
captain gets pay band or pay scale of 15600 - 39100 which lies in
the pay band 3 of revised pay scale by sixth pay commission. A
captain receives 6100 rupees grade pay, 700 rupees more than that of
a lieutenant. MSP of a captain is 6000 rupees per month.
Major rank of Indian Army
After captain rank, major rank is given to Army
Officers. A major of Indian Army gets pay band or pay scale is 15600
- 39100. Apart from the pay band or pay scale, major receives 6600
rupees per month as grade pay. Also MSP of six thousand rupees per
month is admissible for a major. In general an Indian Army officer
serving in Major rank gets around one lakh rupees per month.
Lieutenant Colonel rank of Indian Army officers
A major is appointed as a Lieutenant Colonel after
promotion. Pay band of Lieutenant Colonel changes to pay band four
and pay scale range changes to 37400-67000 rupees. Also an officer
in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel gets eight thousand rupees per
month and six thousand rupees as MSP pay. All in all an officer of
Indian Army in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel gets around two lakh
rupees per month as payment.
Colonel rank of Indian Army
A lieutenant colonel is promoted to the rank of
Colonel. Colonel of Indian Army gets pay band or pay scale of
37000-67000 rupees. An officer in the rank of colonel gets 8700
rupees grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP monthly. Thus, a colonel of
Indian Army gets two and half lakh rupees to three lakh rupees per
month.
Brigadier rank
Brigadier rank is given to the Indian Army
officers who are serving in the rank of colonel and considered for
further promotion. A brigadier of Indian Army has pay band or pay
scale of 37400 - 67000 rupees. Also a brigadier receives 8900 rupees
as grade pay and 6000 rupees as MSP monthly. So Indian Army
brigadier gets around three and half lakh rupees per month.
Major General rank of Indian Army
A brigadier is promoted as Major General in Indian
Army. A major general gets 37400 - 67000 rupees. Also an officer of
Indian Army in the rank of Major General gets ten thousand rupees
per month as grade pay. A major general of Indian Army gets around
four lakh rupees per month.
Lieutenant General rank
Lieutenant General of Indian Army gets pay band or
pay scale of 67000 - 79000 rupees. Lieutenant general of
Indian Army does not get any grade pay or MSP. All in all an Indian
Army officer working in the rank of Lieutenant General gets around
four and half lakh rupees.
General rank of Indian Army
Highest rank of Indian Army is General. General's
pay band is fixed at ninety thousand rupees per month. The General
of Indian Army gets around more than six to seven lakh rupees per
month. Up to Lieutenant General rank, all Indian Army officers gets
three percent annual increment in their pay band or pay
scale.
Apart from the above mentioned pay band or pay scale, Indian Army officers do get various allowances and facilities which makes officer cadre career of Army as one of the best options to choose.

NCC - Know more about the Uniform
Its not just NCC who wears
the hackle but the armies of some Common wealth countries the hackle is
worn by some infantry regiments, especially those designated as fusilier
regiments and those with Scottish and Northern Irish origins. The
colour of the hackle varies from regiment to regiment. In india other than NCC the following Regiments are entitled to wear :
Brigade of the Guards : Red over yellow
The Grenadiers : White
Kumaon Regiment : Green
Mahar Regiment : Dull cherry
Maratha Light Infantry : Red over green
Naga Regiment : Orange
Rajput Regiment : Maroon over red
National Cadet Corps : Red
2) What is Aiguillette,
3) Why we wear dark Green Beret
4) Why the Fourragère is on left side,
For this too again there are many stories some of them are as follows
Although there are many stories from history about its origin but in
today's world it is decorated to generals and staff officers who are on
duty as RDC or delegated (RDC duty is the officer on duty with Governors
and similar higher officials) Aiguillette is not a part of NCC uniform
but only meant for officers
3) Why we wear dark Green Beret
The story takes us back to 1941 when there were many badges and
different colours of headgears and no standardisation in uniform was
crating too many problems in British Army. They decided to adopt an Irish
Culture called Tam o' Shanter initially 3 colours were proposed red,
yellow and green. Green was chosen as the most suitable. The proposal
that the commandos should start wearing green beret as their official
headdress was submitted to the Chief of Combined Operations and
forwarded by Lord Mountbatten to the Under-Secretary of State for War.
Approval was granted and in October 1942 the first green berets were
issued to the Royal Marines. As we follow the british culture all the
above mentioned regiments wear Green Beret including NCC as they are too
part of Infantry.
4) Why the Fourragère is on left side,
For this too again there are many stories some of them are as follows
1) well the major reason for wearing the Fourragère on left side is to
avoid inconvenience while working such as supporting the butt of rifle
and while doing drill etc.
2) All those corps and regiments which
comes direct in action(Fighting corp) with enemy such as infantry wears
it on left and not fighting force such as Artillery etc wears it on
Right
Lanyards is used to secure the sword, Pistol ets and
Fourragère are the decoratives of unit or regiment Like NCC Fourragère
made of three colour each for tri service....don't confuse between the
below three....
