Attestation Power of ANOs


Recently Kerala ANO Association published a diary for ANOs. It includes various orders including that of attestation power.

      Please download the order in this post and read it carefully.

      As far as I understand both JD and SD ANOs are commissioned officers. The name of our course at Kamptee is PRCN which means Pre-Commission. Pre means before. So after the course we both get commissioned in the Army wing of NCC.

      According to the Wikipedia in India Commissioned Officers are Gazetted Officers.

    as far as it is concerned A N Os doesnt have the power of attestation ...there was a order related to attestation in 1965,but it has been removed recently

    The above mentioned letter regarding ncc officers, not for the associate naval officer(ANO). ano's are commissioned only for the ncc, not for the armed forces. They are not gazzetted officers as defence officers.

    SIR ANY DIFFERENT BIT BEEN AIR FORCE ANO AND ARMY ANO IN RANK IN AIR FORCE THEY ARE TELLING 3rd OFFICER IN ARMY IS LT. BOTH RANK ARE SAME ARE ANY DIFFIDENT IS THERE.

      The Ranks of Junior Division/Junior Wings ANOs are the same in Army, Navy and Airforce NCC.

      Likewise the ranks of Senior Division/Senior Wings ANOs are the same in Army, Navy and Airforce NCC.

    Dear respective ANO'S,
    We are ANO'S, not in regular armed service. But, our NCC is a one of the part of armed service, we are done our pre-commision on and under defence ministry, dnt forget. So, i agree we are all commissioned officer under defence.
    In armed have 3 commissioned. 1. C.O, 2. J.C.O 3. N.C.O.,

    In first category of C.O are done on their commission, J.C.Os are through their seniority.

    In that time, in defence G.O said, J.C.OS are group B gazetted officer's..

    Ok.. we are direct commissioned officer's, both SD/JD.. SO, hope we are gazetted..

    ANOs(JD/SD both)are not gazetted officers.Their names are not notified in the gazette of India/State Govt. Their records are just held by the NCC directorate.
    ANOs have no attestation power.
    JD ANOs are at par with the JCO s in the Army and equivalent ranks.
